Seems that Ryan Hall (class of 2004), who holds the American record for marathon time at 2 hours 4 minutes 58 seconds, is retiring at the age of 33 due to fatigue. I remember reading about him in the Stanford magazine and he always seemed like a stand-up guy -- the NYT writer agrees!
