Speaks to the insane strength of Stanford, USC, and UCLA in Olympic sports (and the PAC-12 in general). The conference has gone through a really long down period for national championships in football and basketball, but we've been dominating in just about everywhere else.

The incorrect Wikipedia entry regarding Texas lasted for just 27 minutes before it got fixed. You and I both happened to look at it during that time. It's not too surprising that edits to that page are being made quickly at this time of year. It's championship season in a lot of sports and a lot of people probably are checking that page.

I canʻt thank you all enough. My 1st year medical students decided to have their brunch today therefore I could not watch the match. The Cardboard and a little bit of twitter made it possible for me to follow the match. However, I could not enjoy my brunch at all because I was to anxious, nervous, and excited. I seriously wanted to do my happy dance on the table when Stanford finally won the Championship.
What a gutsy performance. The fight in these young ladies is unbelievable. WOW!!! So deserving.
I donʻt know if itʻs the espresso or the championship thatʻs keeping upbeat and excited.

I'm sure this will shock nobody, but while the C.apital One Cup standings take NCAA championship results into account for most sport scoring, they make an exception for tennis, where it's the final ITA rankings. (They do this for some other sports, too. Until someone tells me otherwise, I'll assume it's a plot to ensure Stanford can't win.)
Thus, while we'll get max points for the Director's Cup out of this, it's by no means clear that we'll get the #1 spot in the ITA rankings. (We might, though. In the second-to-last ITA rankings in 2013, Stanford Women's Tennis was ranked 12th. After winning the title, they vaulted all the way to 1st. Plus, we've beaten the top 2 teams in the past month in C.al and Florida, so I'd say we've got a good argument.)Â

In the pre-college football playoff world (and esp. the pre-BCS world), I could see having a split between perceived and actual national champions.
