McPhee scored the last 19 points for us. She was simply unstoppable in crunch time; that type of performance is amazing against a top-6 opponent on their home court and is on par with similarly great games in the past.
But let's not forget shutting down Hebard in the second half; we were able to collapse onto her without leaving us too vulnerable to their shooters.
Amazing offensive sequence from 3 minutes left to about a minute left. Great efforts to prolonged our possession and essentially sealed the game for us; despite missing a couple shots, we grabbed 2 o-boards and were able to milk more time when Oregon needed the time to come back. The McPhee layup at the end of that possession was the cherry on top, but it was our hustle and grit that clinched it.
Only 6 turnovers in the game; we really locked down on that aspect of our woes, which pleases me to no end.
Ionescu had 22 pts, but she was only 6/14 from the floor. We dared Sabally to hit long range shots and she was, fortunately for us, only 1/8. We also held Oregon scoreless for the last 5 minutes of the game. That's the right way to end the game!!
Also, very scary moment when Brit and Kiana collided going for the rebound. Kiana seemed to get the brunt of it with a bloody nose, she returned but not for too long in the 4th. Hopefully, she and Brit will be alright.
But the MVP was Brit. She shined when we needed her the most, like Chiney and Nneka in the past and the Ducks just could not stop her.
A great weekend, sweeping two of the three most difficult opponents in conference on their home courts will do wonders not just in the standings and rankings, but for our confidence!
