Winning against two quality teams on the road and seizing a piece of first place should dispel many of our early season ghosts. But we probably won't be able to count on another 31 point half from Britt if we meet Oregon in the Pac 12 tournament. Can we finish out our regular season with consistent performances? Can we beat C.al twice in week? Will we overlook two dangerous Washington teams on our final road trip? Or will we keep getting better, climb the RPI, and prime ourselves for a deep NCAA run?
Next up is Utah and Colorado this upcoming weekend. Utah is a deceptively solid team and I hope we don't have a letdown after this emotionally exhausting weekend. Luckily, we are playing at Maples and we have 4-5 days to recover. Hopefully Kiana & Britt won't feel any lingering effects and will be okay after their scary collision.
Consistency is the key thing right now. We've kept it up for two weeks now, can we extend it to a third? The perfect complement to Brit's amazing game today would be a brobdingnagian game by another player, to send a message to opponents that they can't just key in on McPhee on defense, whether it's the conference tourney or the NCAA tournament.
It would be awesome if Smith can replicate a little of that second Ohio State game magic and put in a 20-pt or more performance in one of our remaining 6 regular season games.
