Please point out the official word that KJ Costello is missing Spring Practice. If Stanford is going to report on the injury status of players for Spring and talk about Michael Williams having heart surgery, why wouldn't they make mention of something significant going on with the team's starting QB?

well, I dunno, Shaw's been less than forthcoming about Mills's injury too, which is not the ticky-tack thing people seem to think on this board.

I don't recall anyone suggesting that Mills's knee injury is "ticky tack". Mostly we just don't know. It seems to be developing into something chronic that flares up on him from time to time, which makes me wonder if it is going to hamper him throughout his entire Stanford career.

It's not chronic. He tore an ACL.

The point is he injured it shortly before his senior year, but was able to quickly come back and play most if the season. Then he reinjured it in the State Championship game, but supposedly not seriously. By the time fall practice started he still was hampered by it, and didn't practice. Then supposedly he got over it and was able to play. Toward the end of the season he had what Shaw described as a "setback" and now he won't be able to come back until August.
Sounds a little chronic to me.

2018 may be time to install the single wing. Real power football, needs a blocking back, a massive fullback and a tailback who can complete a six yard pass. Spinners, reverses and a line firing out. If Costello and Mills are casualties in September it's either West and Richardson or the wing.

So is the board consensus that Costello is out for Spring without any official word from Stanford that this is the case?

I missed it. What was said about Williams?
