In any case, it was clear that Costello wasn't actually hurt in the play, though you could make a case that he should have undergone a quick eval to make sure that he really wasn't hurt (and "toughing it out").

No, it wasn’t “clear that he wasn’t actually hurt”. How can you say that? His head got ping ponged between 2 defenders, and he couldn’t get up right away. In the NFL, that kind of hit sends the guy to the sideline for an exam, regardless of what the player thinks or says.

Yeah, I think he's going to stay now for another year.

Am I the only person who thought the reverse was ridiculously risky? Glad it worked out, but it seems like there's a much greater chance for disaster on such a call.

Anyway, I haven't seen a second of the Oregon bowl game, but the scoreboard shows they're losing 6-0 in the fourth quarter. Stanford ekes out a victory over a team that various posters on this board said was mediocre at best. Maybe the Pac is not too good at football.
