Agreed, I love these stories too, and he sounds like a great kid.
It re-emphasizes that I would never get accepted to Stanford now. But on the plus side, as a middle-aged white guy I read these stories and feel inspired to try to live up to what an 18-year-old has already accomplished.
Not to trivialize the story, but it's interesting to see what names teenagers pick for themselves when they have the chance. "Galahad" is a great one, even if it raises the eyebrows of native English speakers. I met an boy who picked "Hans" because it sounded like his Chinese name Han, and another who picked "Robin" because he liked Batman.
