Pretty nice for Duke to add Chase Brice as transfer QB from Clemson along with Hamilton. Wonder if KJ Costello considered Duke. Playing for Cutcliffe would be good experience for any would be NFL QB.

I don't think a sixth year is really feasible at Stanford for most players because a sixth year is past co-term territory; you have to get into a full-fledged two year Masters program (IBS did a CS Masters, for example), which is quite difficult. Plus, a lot of guys want to get MBAs, and the GSB isn't exactly the easiest school to get into...

Thanks for this information. This is helpful; I guess I got tripped up on why other Stanford players have not done this, but your explanation of Stanford grad degrees makes sense. I got a co-term, and I know how unlikely it would be to stretch that into two years.

Perhaps this is why Speights did not play (but for one game) - to reserve the year as an injury year.

Wilson is in her 4th year and is only requesting a 5th year. She needs a waiver to get that, because she played in the second half of the season in which she was injured (freshman year). What happened was that she came back from injury and then had a second injury that ended her season. In addition she missed a bunch of games with injury the next year, fwiw. So there's a possibility of getting a 5th year by waiver under the spirit of the rules even though the letter doesn't dictate it.

This was expected, and much more to do with having a great opportunity elsewhere. Hamilton would've likely started at guard here, but he wants to play tackle. That's what he was recruited to play in the first place, and it's the best chance to show his skills to scouts at the next level. He'll also get 2 years to play, which is nearly impossible to swing at Stanford as mentioned earlier. Bonus that Duke is a great school.

- Rouse was too good at LT as a True Frosh to not have him at RT, IMO.
- Sarell did nothing to show dominance at RT, and seems like his path to the NFL is as a Guard.
- Bragg was my favorite recruit of the 2019 class and very well could be better than Hamilton.

I'd be surprised if Sarell moves off RT at Stanford.  I expect him to be a fixture there and some of the young 'uns will go from starters to back ups.  on OL "sleepers," Chris Hinton surprised me post-season film wise.  he might be in line for some PT at RT (assuming health at the position).  he has surprisingly good, light feet and played against much higher level competition in high school than did Rouse.

I agree we should anticipate Little and Sarrell the tackles, if healthy, with Rouse and Hinton the backups.  Rouse did very well for a true freshman, but he was still a true freshman and has a lot of development to do. Our playbook was limited once we had to start the true freshmen at the offensive line, and should be fuller assuming our linemen can stay healthy.

Dolman is obvious at center, and is the leader of the line.  Hamilton and Hattis would have started at guard had they stayed.  I agree Bragg will likely take one of the guard spots. The other one is a bigger question, and could involve moving one of the tackles inside or playing another sophomore guard.

That's what I've always thought. But it seems like players such as Peek and Hamilton redshirted their true frosh years for preparation and growth, not injury, as, until last year, was the custom for just about every true freshman at Stanford.
