Pac-12 didn't waive it (as they pointed out during game tonight). Only 4 Pac-12 bowl tie-ins this year due to cancellations.

I think it’s doubtful at this point. Washington State didn’t just miss Stanford, they missed Cal and Washington, too. I think they stick with the North-South matchups at this point and try to ensure the best competition, although the conference has so much parity that it really doesn’t matter who plays each other, in my opinion.
Here are my guesses, just for fun -
UW - USC

Stanford - UCLA
OSU - ASU (OSU already played Utah)
Wazzu - Utah
Cal - UofA

I think it’s doubtful at this point. Washington State didn’t just miss Stanford, they missed Cal and Washington, too. I think they stick with the North-South matchups at this point and try to ensure the best competition, although the conference has so much parity that it really doesn’t matter who plays each other, in my opinion.

Whatever you feel about long term direction of program, play calling and turtle games , you pretty well have to admit that Shaw has done “coach of the year” type job this year. Talking about leading rough adversity! Further, this team is highly motivated and Seems to have bought in to Shaw approach .
Chasing “Wha ifs” is usually a fools errand but I do find myself wondering “what if” some idiot didn’t botch the Covid Test and Mills ,Weddington played against Oregon. didn't shaw also start with conservative play calling last year then open it up as the season wore on? seems like one of his traits. also, i believe someone posted that the first dozen plays - or is it 20?) - are scripted by tavita. if so, he did a good job.
mills would have looked even better with wilson and wedington playing.
which reminds me - were those announcers osu locals? they stressed that osu played without 2 receivers but didn't mention that stanford was in the same boat. they went on and on about the osu qb and said little about mills. they went on and on about the osu running back and said little about austin jones. they raved about the osu kicker and an osu linebacker.

Stanford has beaten an allegedly decent Washington team and two less than mediocre teams in Cal and OSU. Not breaking out the champaign just yet. Had we taken the opportunity to play San Jose State when we had it, and beaten them, then perhaps some accolades. Sure, this has been a tough year, but it's been that was for everyone else, too.

A fairly consistent attribute of Shaw’s teams over the years is that they get better as the season rolls on. And they are resilient. Shaw deserves credit for that. But I realize for some that giving Shaw credit for anything but being lucky enough to follow JH is not gonna happen.

I'd settle for just some easing up on the constant barrage of naysaying. The folks who don't like Shaw's MO, are at least pretty consistent, and complain even when we are doing well - although not as much or as vocally.
I stick to my early statement that this season doesn't count, good or bad, as long as we get through it ethically and healthfully.
Any accolades are bonus. I hope the players who will still be here next year are getting some experience and developing, and also making some academic progress.

I'll give Shaw credit for improving from last season to having a mediocre, middle-of-the-road team. He kept the seat from getting hot, not only for himself but (unfortunately) for his staff. The roster is still too thin, we still have too many injuries (for the third year in a row which makes it no longer a blip but a pattern), and on offense we still get into too many 3rd & 5+ situations.

Worried about Shaw to Alabama?!? That's the funniest line I've read here in a while, and there have been some doozies. . . .
All well and good. But where are the folks that said 0-5 after Colorado?
A fairly consistent attribute of Shaw’s teams over the years is that they get better as the season rolls on. And they are resilient. Shaw deserves credit for that. But I realize for some that giving Shaw credit for anything but being lucky enough to follow JH is not gonna happen.

No. Not yet.
Stanford has beaten an allegedly decent Washington team and two less than mediocre teams in Cal and OSU. Not breaking out the champaign just yet. Had we taken the opportunity to play San Jose State when we had it, and beaten them, then perhaps some accolades. Sure, this has been a tough year, but it's been that was for everyone else, too.

I'll give Shaw credit for improving from last season to having a mediocre, middle-of-the-road team. He kept the seat from getting hot, not only for himself but (unfortunately) for his staff. The roster is still too thin, we still have too many injuries (for the third year in a row which makes it no longer a blip but a pattern), and on offense we still get into too many 3rd & 5+ situations.
Given the fact that we now have a three game winning streak (on the road) which includes a victory over a previously undefeated team which will playing for the CC, I give us credit for being somewhat better than mediocre.
