I'm apologize if this is behind the paywall. The story linked in the article definitely is. The long-time coach of WBB at Riverside City College, Alicia Berber, has been fighting for equal treatment for her players since she started 22 years ago. I can't believe it's 2023 and they're still being treated as they second-class citizens.

Cheryl Miller has brought attention to the situation, as she is afraid for Berber's life. Though she has been ostracized for years due to her demands, recently it has taken an ugly turn due to "a small handful of male athletes."

By the way,  one of the RCC WBB players had a triple-double last week (11pts, 11 rebounds, 12 assists)

I have a subscription to the LA Times, so I could see both the above article and the one it linked to (to which someone gave a overly-sensational title).  Too bad it is pay-walled.  I did a web search for other coverage, but didn't find much.  Here's one article and follow-up.
