If we lose, the obituary is going to point to the third quarter, where we gave up three unanswered touchdowns. Fumble recovery for TD, an INT (okay, fourth down, but surely the not-double-covered receiver was a better option) -- both self-inflicted errors in a tight game against an underperforming superior (on paper) opponent.

I’m more inclined to put the finger on a defense that can’t tackle.

End of 3rd quarter, Louisville fans look bored, and we were trying to block an off-tackle run with one blocker vs. two defenders. That doesn't seem smart at all.

IMO, TP lost his patience and it cost us a chance to win this game.
Put a glide in your stride and a dip in your hip.
We decline the DPI penalty because NICO BROWN CAUGHT THAT BALL. He's good.
Ford battles his way in for the TD!
Fkin refs. Was it holding? I can't tell what the penalty was for. But that would have been an amazing effort play. He shrugged off three tacklers and more to get in.

Why are we throwing -6 yd screen passes on 1st and 15 when we can't block? Brown, High, and Hall are good -- go downfield.
I guess a short 3rd and 16 pass for zero yards is what we needed.
Blackburn was in single coverage. Should have gone to him.
Same defense that held Louisville to 14 pts for most of the first half. I want that defense, the well-rested one because our offense possessed the ball.

It was fun while it lasted
Wheels came off
Untimely mistakes
Terrible tackling in the 2nd half
D Warren missing a few
Receivers dropping a few
Desperate play calling way too early
Refs piling it on
On the plus side, Ford looking better than ever and team was tied on the third quarter before the aforementioned wheels off the axles.
Hopefully something to build upon, but a shame after such a promising first half.

about 20min to 10min for Stanford.
WARNING: How tired is our thin defense in second half? Worst red zone defense in ACC
LOUV found out how tired our Defense is.
They have more than 300 yards rushing
OK, down 52-24 with 5min to go.
Two runs up the middle for about 3 yards each
Padding those rushing numbers.

Does this tally out as our 15th straight ACC away game loss?

did they ever tell us which of our players was supposedly downfield on Micah's touchdown that got called back?

Disappointing to not put more points on the board. I sort of get the gameplan -- try to avoid sacks at all costs. So, I don't fault the many, many short throws. But the offense looked far too ragged, and penalties, though few, proved costly. I'd give a C+ grade.
I actually thought the defense did some pretty good things, as Louisville often faced second and long. But clearly this side of the ball is just putrid. Yes, they played with some real intensity and forced one (1) punt in the first half. Let's not forget, however, that the two biggest plays were basically gifts (Louisville going for the fake FG, the fumbled snap). No question it's an F.
It's fine to criticize TP for some panic moves, but, let's face it, the defense being so porous contributes to his justification for gambling (a vicious cycle, if there ever was one).
Comparatively speaking it was a better performance on the road, so we diehards will no doubt continue on to root another day. But there was nothing we saw today that should make anyone feel better about the season's prospects going forward, unless you want to talk about Kal's poor performance against NC State.
Other notes: Fattig, at one time a starter on the O-line, got some snaps late in the 4th quarter. Aaron Morris appeared to my eyes to replace Dre Pollard and performed pretty adequately. I don't mind people saying Louisville has a good offense, because that's true, but Louisville had not scored 50+ against an FBS team since September 2023 (Boston College). This year, among Louisville's FBS opponents, only Florida State scored fewer points than Stanford (20).
