I'm speculating, but it seems possible that Coach Yikes might have been asked by Scarlett (or Haas) whether or not The Low APR 59ers football team would foot the bil for his 1st year (i.e. continue his athletic scholarship) and Yikes said no.  Which brings me to the question:

Will Scarlett (no pun intended vis a vis the Robin Hood reference....) be getting a free ride from Stanford for the first year of his Grad program (whether it be at GSB, MS&E or the Department of Horticulture, or whatever....)?  Somehow, that seems unseemly, at least to me.

Just curious as to why you would find that unseemly, assuming Shaw wants him on the football team. After all we did offer him a four year ride out of high school. Also, he will be getting the same benefits players who will have graduated from Stanford and are still on the team (like Hogan) are getting.
