This makes me very happy on 3 levels.
1) We really need Defensive Ends. Despite his injuries, he is more proven than anyone on our roster at DE. If healthy, he should be a meaningful contributor and one of the more important guys on the team given lack of depth here.
2) This just really grates Cal fans. I am sorry but I must admit this makes me happy. He was voted team captain last year so it isn't like he was a guy with a bad attitude who didn't like Cal.
3) It takes the sting out of Wayne Lyons leaving. It bums me out that he would leave his final year at Stanford where he likely would have started. I have a lot of Stanford pride, and I don't like it when a current player sees greener pastures in Ann Arbor. We have more depth at CB than DE so I think the net effect of the Scarlett Lyons transfer is positive for Stanford.
