That's a very strange argument given the long run of success in the Montgomery years as well. Whenever Stanford sports do poorly people argue something about that sport just doesn't work given Stanford's admissions model. But then after replacing the coach we find, oops, Stanford can do very well given the right coach. We'll probably never be Alabama in football or Kentucky in basketball, but that's no reason to settle for Idiotfacian ineptitude or even Dawkinsian mediocrity.
