While I agree that Monty sometimes seemed to have more difficulty in the tournament, the Siena loss was a very special case. From memory without checking the details, this first NCAA tournament game in 5(?) decades was the early East Coast game that opened the tournament. Siena had not played before a game crowd in a month or so as a result of a measles outbreak and their fans (who happened to be local) were rabid to attend a Siena game. Siena actually had a hot shooting guard who was highly ranked nationally in shooting. And Howard Wright clanked the opening dunk off the tipoff. Sigh.
