Well, that was the problem.  Stanford was in the middle of a string of truly great PGs but for some reason their was a gap between, hmmmhh, Michael McDonald and Chris Hernandez, if I'm remembering the sequence correctly. 

TonyG looked a little lost out there at times so a lot of fans wanted to see what Julius Barnes could do at the point.  I think point would have been a tough fit for Julius who had great one-on-one drive moves and could leap out of his sneakers but was not the floor general and assist leader you expected from a Montgomery Point Guard.   

Julius' most memorable plays involved his famed leaping ability.  Most Stanford fans of that time remember his awesome game saving block against Duke where as the smallest player in the scrum he singlehandedly blocked a dunk attempt (maybe against Dunleavy?).  It's hard to believe now but Duke and Stanford had quite the rivalry going for a short period with Stanford going 2-0 against the Blue Devils in 2000 and 2001 and also competing for players (Dunleavy, Jacobsen, etc) and national rankings.
