Some of the development of the top players is down to the private coaches they individually hire to work with in the off season. The college staff only gets a limited amount of time they're allowed to work with players. So citing a few examples of players who've improved greatly over their four years doesn't necessarily prove the head coach is good at individual player development. There needs to be a pattern where most players improve steadily.
