How blase we have become! Other big-time athletic departments and fan groups would die to win just one Directors Cup. We just yawn and put another one on the shelf. The WWP championship is fantastic, just as the women tennis championship was a couple of years ago, but it's the collective efforts of hundreds of men and women students that wins us a Directors Cup. I think it's that across-the-board excellence and consistency that deserves the most recognition and respect.
That said, what a super win for a gritty and talented bunch of players and a terrific coach! The praise from his players speaks volumes about him.
