Mandel does quote David Shaw's position as a counter to the hypocrisy of coaches and admins who might want to block these transfers.
I don't get the admin's reasoning there. Allowing a student to pursue their interest in graduate education and placing athletic concerns secondary to that goes against the purpose of intercollegiate athletics?
