Don't get me wrong, I want to win the directors cup.  But I will be sadder when we don't keep the national title streak up.

As it stands, if someone was not alive when Gerald Ford was President then they have never experienced an academic year without at least one NCAA team title going to Stanford University.

If a school had won just one NCAA team title in each of the 39 years in Stanford's run, that school would be 10th on the list of all time winners.  10th overall would place that school ahead of Michigan (36), Florida (34) and a certain school across the SF Bay (32).
