They were unlikely to add much to UCLA's tally anyway. It really comes down to Men's Golf and Men's T&F for both schools. Really unlikely that UCLA will outperform Stanford by the margins needed.
In the end, they need to almost run the table. If UCLA becomes CWS Baseball champs, WCWS softball champs, Men's golf champs, Women's golf champs and women's tennis champs then they MIGHT win the NACDA Directors' cup by 10-20 points if the UCLA men's track & field post an impressive top 25 result too. And if they do all of that in the next 4 weeks then they deserve the cup.
The UCLA men's tennis team losing in the Round of 16 and Stanford golf's advancement to the final really was just about enough.Â
