Round 3 is complete. UCLA went 2 over par down the stretch and did not catch Alabama. But the Bruins made the cut anyway because South Carolina collapsed and fell below the Bruins. That will give UCLA a chance to move up in Round 4, possibly helping their Directors' Cup total.
The goal today in Round 4 will be to finish in the top 8 and advance to match play. Stanford currently is 7th, just 2 strokes out of 4th, so we're in a decent position. But we're just 3 strokes ahead of #9, so there's not much room for mistakes. UCLA is 15th, 16 strokes out of the top 8, so they have some work to do.
Cardinal now in 5th at +2 through holes 5 to 7 today. At +50 for tournament they are 6 shots ahead of the two eighth place teams.
UCLA firmly in 15th place, 6 shots behind 14th place Alabama and already at holes 11 through 14.
Geaux Cardinal!
