To get to 1489 UCLA would need to win 5 NCAA team titles in the next few weeks. It would be an epic accomplishment worthy of the cup and so much more. UCLA has three credible chances to win NCAA team titles (Baseball, Softball, Men's Golf). However, UCLA has no chance, absolutely ZERO chance of winning the NCAA team titles in Men's or Women's Track & Field. They will be very lucky to finish in the top 20 in those two events. Give them 50 in each one. More than they will get for sure, but let's say they do that.
Therefore the realistic maximum is 1389 for UCLA. That would include 3 NCAA team titles and two amazing T&F results.
Things can happen, but UCLA is not getting up to 1389. Oh and BTW, Stanford will finish with more than 1379.
Nice to track this cup until the last moments, but the race is essentially over.
FWIW - If UCLA does finish above 1400 they will have had such an amazing June that they deserve to win.
