Does anyone know what the next-longest current NC streak is? I'd guess that the likely candidates are UCLA, SC, Penn State, and UNC.Thought about that today. USC does not have a title this year. They could win one of the titles in June, but they are running out of chances. Their active streak starts after the miss in 2006-2007. So it stands at 7, but they need a June title to keep their active alive at 8.
I believe UCLA's last missed academic year was 1993-1994. That would give them 21 and counting. That's probably the best active run.
OKState has a boat load of titles in wrestling, but does not have an active streak.
Penn State's last miss appears to be 2005-2006. And it is active, so they are at 9.
Arkansas was fairly reliable with XC, IT&F or OT&F, but not recently. No active streak.
Texas has a streak at 1. Swimming.
LSU does not have an active streak.
UNC does not have an active streak.
Michigan's is at 2, but they need a title ASAP to get to 3.
UCB is active at 2.
The rest are unlikely to have longer active streaks than UCLA. Would suspect that behind Stanford. It is UCLA (21) , Penn State (9) and USC (7).Â
