I had the impression that Maguire was not comfortable with the shot/club the coach wanted her to hit, probably because of the sloped lie below her feet and uncertainty about the stuff the ball was lying on, so she hit the shot she was comfortable with. But that doesn't explain the line she chose (if she chose it, maybe the sloped lie affected where it ended up). Her wedge shot was very difficult with the green sloping away from the hole, and she did not spin the ball enough anyway.
