Perhaps mentioned here already, but two things:

Danielson and Aubert each went undefeated, 3-0, in match play.  That meant that only one of their other three teammates needed to win to win a team match. Those two are steely.

And they're all back next year.  After that, a fabulous 2017 recruit named Mika Liu joins the team.  And this group's experience in this year's three rounds of match play will help immensely in match play next year.

And a third: I'd argue that the hardest things in sports might be taking two free throws to tie a game with no time left, and to have a six foot putt when it counts--which it does all the time--in team match play golf.  You can deal with letting yourself down in stroke or match play solo, but the risk of costing your team a win can overwhelm you--as many Ryder Cup players can attest.

So this ranks as one of Stanford's most impressive championships.  All of them required skill, but this one took guts.
