Updated through today's women's golf CHAMPIONSHIP.
Stanford
Men can still score points in: Golf (minimum of 45 points for being in the final 30 teams); Outdoor T+F (ranked 23 - would score roughly 48 points.)Â If both score, the lowest scoring sport will be eliminated.
Minimum men's score: 614.5 (scoring 45 for golf)
Field hockey drops out, despite finishing 5th and 60 points.
Women can still score points in: Rowing (ranked 6 - would score 72 points); Outdoor T+F (ranked 13 - would score roughly 63 points.)
Minimum score -795
Minimum total score: 1409.5
A couple of notes: the women's side will finish with AT LEAST an average team score of 79.5 - that's at least 10 teams averaging about a 4th place finish. Talk about a breadth of excellence. And if rowing finishes as they are ranked or better, every scoring team for Stanford's women will be top-10.
Would love to see what men's golf will add and what women's rowing could add. But it would take that and a out-of-this-world performance in outdoor T+F to approach the record finish, from 2010-11, when Stanford scored an incredible 1550.25 points. If they won both men's golf and women's rowing, they would need to score 150 points in outdoor T+F to beat that record - in other words, an average finish of 5th.
