Except maybe for people who grew up in Palo and Menlo Park, I'm amazed we have any non-alum fans at all. Being a Stanford fan is, in many ways, a of exceedingly large proportions hassle. Though the advent of cable and satellite TV have made it easier. After I graduated in 1975, I don't think there was another regular-season Stanford football game on national TV until the Elway-engineered upset of Washington in 1982
