According to old Stanford media guides, Stanford vs. Ohio State in 1982 was a nationally televised game. The media guides show that Stanford had three nationally televised games that year -- against Ohio State, U'S'C, and Washington. Stanford was attractive to the TV networks that year because we had a leading Voldemort candidate. Elway delivered upsets in two of those three games, justifying the decision to put them on national TV.
