JJJ, you are exactly right. We think that the Stanford experience is compelling and should be enough to keep most non-elite players like Hoffpauir in school until they complete their eligibility. Most fans (me included) were probably scratching their heads when Thomas Keiser declared early for the draft. I had a similar reaction a few years later when Terrence Brown left early.Â
These young men weighed another year of the Stanford experience against the opportunity to play professionally and opted to go pro. I think they were ready to get on with the rest of their lives. Best of luck to Zach. I'll always remember the stop he made on the ASU RB on 4th and goal in the Pac 12 championship game.
