At the time, Harrison would have had to sit out a year if she transferred to another school unless it was to complete a degree that Stanford did not offer, in which case the NCAA waived the requirement to sit out.  Transferring to an out-of-conference school was not enough to avoid the year delay (Utah had not joined the Pac 10 yet.)

I don't think that rule still exists, or else it has been substantially liberalized.
