I am not a lawyer, but seems to me that treatment of some kind is a must-do as a risk mitigation.
Also not a lawyer but I would imagine the university would have no liability. Sarkisian is an adult and his actions are his own. Does the university have a moral obligation to get him help, if they know he has a problem? I would say yes, but of course that is up for debate. But as for a legal obligation? I truly doubt it, but hopefully a resident attorney (of which I'm sure there is at least a small handful) can shed some light.
