I think it was said as a matter of fact.  It was not bluster and bravado.  I took it to be a statement of confidence in the current game's feel for martyup and was offered up, I presume, to give succor to those of us who may not have been as comfortable at that moment.  Only martyup can describe his own state of mind.  It isn't as if he was telling all of us that there was, in fact, nothing nerve-wracking going on.

Interesting philosophical question: is it only "woofing" if it is intended to be woofing? or is there an objective definition of "woofing" linked to the words uttered, regardless of the mindset of the speaker? Is it possible for the "Woofing Gods" to misinterpret innocent words for "woofing"? or, as Gods, can we expect them to be omniscient and so be able to distinguish between woofing and mere confidence intended to reassure other mortals? 

Given that each game is vital to the effort to win the Pac-12, maybe such points need to be clarified.  ;)
