Well, I guess he left just because he felt it was 'best for South Carolina football.' 

The President asked him why not stay on the rest of the year and just announce this is his last year, and he said the team loses motivation and doesn't play well when that happens.

So he's just going to cut it of clean and fast, and hope SC can start the rebuilding process now.
