If I were teaching logical fallacies at Heald, I would have noted Garvin's post as an example of faulty cause and effect. I would have warned my students that there could be more than one cause to a given effect.  I would also mention oversimplification. Congratulations, Garvin, on being able to reason as well as a Heald student.
