Not only  is this "water is wet," but it might also be "haters gonna hate."  It's possible that defensive coordinators might have found more effective ways to shut down the longer pass plays in the second half of the game.  It's possible that maybe Luck suffered a sub-concussive head injury against Oregon that affected his game.

Clearly the writer didn't see the Orange Bowl where Luck carved up VT in that statistical wasteland of a second half.  Looked fine to me then, and he had enough energy to go jumping around and high-fiving afterward too.
