If Michael Williams doesn't play next year period, it will be evident he's more than likely not going to be a great player. 

Just like that Andrew Luck not playing as a true frosh period was evidence that he wasn't going to be a great player.


The real answer is ... it depends.
Some players play well early, some don't. It's never a bad sign if a player makes major contributions as a true frosh, but the opposite isn't true.
