I believe this was addressed elsewhere but cannot seem to find it. How does it affect us if 'bama beats LSU? To be honest, neither seems to be dominating the other, and I'm not sure how to perceive it (both at high level or both at mediocre level?).

If Alabama wins, especially in a close game, there will likely be minimal movement in the playoff rankings.  So, Stanford would be largely unaffected -- which isn't what we want.  It's early enough at this point that it likely won't matter, but if LSU wins it will likely eliminate Alabama from playoff contention.
