But the comment referred to a crappy education as the cost of being seduced by the Spartan mindset. Well, let's go to the NCAA website and what do we find? For the latest Grad. Success Rate numbers-- the GSR is the liberal one, the one that gives 6 yrs. to graduate and doesn't count transfers or those who leave if they are in good academic standing:
Oregon: GSR 54 %  FGR (Federal) 53%  So close to half of the football players at Oregon never graduate in six years. For a major conference university, that strikes me as a pretty crappy educational deal.  If a player really were interested in both an education and a football, at Oregon the odds are pretty close to a coin toss. Arizona is worst, Oregon 8th.
BTW:
the U..S..C..   GSR 61%   FGR 51% which places it in the lower half of the conference. Â
But, your message was clear. The Spartan mindset might be waiting every one of the U..S..C's opponents this year.Â
