I thought Burns ran the triple option in HS. Whether that was out of a single wing formation or not, I'm not sure. While that doesn't mean he is necessarily a better runner than Chryst, he did it more often. Also read that because Burns was in a TO as opposed to pro style, he has had to change his playing style more than Chryst and started out behind a bit.
