I think Stanford and Cal draw a disproportionate number of students from far away compared to the rest of the schools. It's hard to tell, though, since California is so big. Stanford has the largest percentage of out-of-state students, with USC second, but what really matters for the CA schools is the local areas and afaik that's going to be impossible to find.
