As the Stanford program increases in reputation, the offers we make tend to move the market, so to speak.  We don't have Alabama-type hype regarding our talent evaluation, but it's not too bad when Stanford can identify underrated players and develop them into top performers.

That's an interesting point. Would someone like Gardner actually get a boost from a Stanford offer now? I don't really know enough about how this works to say.
