I never would argue with an actual, correctly executed opinion poll,  but I'll just note that rather than actual bodily danger
most of the women I've heard opine on the joys of downtown Berkeley focused more on the Ewwwwwww Factor.  Just creeps (some % of) women out to be around that kind of imposed,  unwanted interaction.    I've been hit up for money by the local denizens, but apparently I  don't have anything else worth commenting on.
