Sorry, BobK, I didn't come down to your seat. I wasn't feeling very sociable.
Let's hand it to LMU. They played a good game. Good digs. Good attacks very close to the net.
Our seniors have been among the best while here at Stanford, but this wasn't one of their good games. Balls fell amongst the team, setter and attacker seemed out of sync, attacks went wide, serves went into the net.
I just wonder what would have happened if we had won just one of the several set points in the first set. I thought it would maybe tone down LMU. Instead, Stanford didn't do very well in the next set. Down two sets, they came out well in the 3rd set, but eventually stalled at 20-20. Facing match point, we recovered from a ball from the other side of the net, for a bright spot. But it was over too soon.
