Assume that the Stanford section seats are terrible. They will be high in the corner endzone. In the corner behind the seats that now sit at field level. Also if your goal is to not hear the USC band, then you probably should not go. The band sits on the other side of the field, so you will hear their three to five tunes all day long.
HOWEVER - All of their tunes are based on the idea that SC is doing well. (Good defensive play, opponent's third down, turnovers, SC first downs and SC scores) It is not hard to believe that the venue could be rather quiet. Much like it was during the 3rd and 4th quarters in 2009. ;)
Getting better seat quality through other venues is possible, but SC fans really don't like to hear visitors. And they definitely don't want to hear Stanford fans at this point. 2009 biggest home loss. 2007 biggest upset. 2005 no longer exists. 2001 a pre-Carroll home loss.
So in the SC record books SC only won one time in the last decade against Stanford in LA. Stanford fans still run in with delight at the idea of being competitive, and cheer with the idea that the team may beat the might SC. But to SC fans, Stanford has had far too much success in LA. If you sit in non-Stanford sections it may get very uncomfortable if Stanford is beating the up (again).
