Regarding a CardBoard meetup, it seems like it would be convenient to do it on Wednesday 12/30 in conjunction with the Pep Rally and the Buck/Cardinal Club gathering in Santa Monica. Both of those events take place in Santa Monica Place (www.santamonicaplace.com), a big, beautiful outdoor mall in the heart of Santa Monica. The Pep Rally is 5-6:30pm (presumably in the mall courtyard) followed immediately by a Buck/Cardinal Club gathering in the Sonoma Wine Garden (top floor of the mall). It's not clear if there is anything planned at the Buck/Cardinal Club gathering or if it's simply just a designated place to meet. There will apparently be light appetizers.
I think that it may be most convenient for Cardboarders to try and find each other at the Sonoma Wine Garden, but I figure I'll ask: would people rather meetup at BuckCardinal/Sonoma Wine Garden, or someplace else? If people prefer someplace else, there is a food court in the mall that could be convenient.
Btw, before or after the pep rally, do take a stroll along the Santa Monica 3rd Street Promenade, the outdoor shopping street mall that begins at Santa Monica Place. It's just a nice, bustling street mall with street performers and tourists & locals alike.

There will be fan giveaways, special deals for fans wearing Stanford gear at various merchants and Stanford gear for sale from the Stanford Bookstore from Noon - 9 p.m. on the third level of Santa Monica Place. There is ample parking available nearby.
Immediately following the pep rally, there will be a Buck/Cardinal Club gathering at the Sonoma Wine Garden in Santa Monica Place. This event is open to all Stanford alumni and fans and no advance registration is required. There will be a $10 cash-only entrance fee on-site.
