I'd also encourage everyone to take the Gold Line if that's an option.
But if you need to drive, I wanted to let folks know that the last two times Stanford played in the Rose Bowl, there has been free street parking in Pasadena within about a half-mile walk of the stadium. For the 2014 game, I found free street parking on Lincoln Ave. a few blocks south of Washington Ave. I also advised some friends who drove down from the Bay Area to park there, and the tip saved them well over an hour in pregame and post-game traffic. This can be a bit tricky, because a lot of the residential streets in that vicinity do get closed on Jan. 1, with exceptions made only for buses and local residents. But if you arrive a few hours before kickoff, and you don't mind a 10-15 minute walk, this can save you some dollars and the headache of dealing with traffic in and out of the Arroyo Seco.
