I respectfully disagree. Catching the ball out of the backkfield is equally as important and running between the tackles. McCaffrey had 50 yards more than Fournette. My complaint is exactly that he is being snubbed. Yes, best AP player, but also one of the two best running backs. Unless you're in favor or participation trophies you have to award the best player, however positions that might be.
Fournette had 4 more touchdowns out of the backfield than McCaffrey. On the balance, I am hardly going to raise a stink about player A (212 yards, 4 TDs rushing on 29 carries; 44 yards, 1 TD receiving on 1 catch) getting the nod over player B (172 yards, 0 TD rushing on 18 carries; 105 yards, 1 TD receiving on 4 receptions). This is close enough that which player had a better game depends on the relative value you give rushing versus receiving for a running back, how much more value you give total yards versus touchdowns, and whether you are more impressed by a running back who can be handed the ball 29 times versus one that gets nearly 10 yards per carry.
Seriously, at this point you guys are tilting at windmills. They both had phenomenal performances, and both got recognized for it. Hardly a snub here.
