I'm not sure how strong a defense Texas Tech has.

Not to add fuel to the fire, or say that Fournette is not deserving of recognition because he had a great game, but Texas Tech's defense is objectively horrendous - 126th out of 127 based on this ranking:

To win this season, Mahomes and crew needed to score essentially every time they touched the ball. Opposing offenses tended to operate like the proverbial hot knife through butter.

The counter to this is Iowa was ranked 22nd at season's end - and they were likely knocked down a few rungs by the punishment doled out by the Cardinal.

McCaffrey will be front-and-center on everyone's radar next year. There are a handful of guys with buzz - and there will likely be newcomers to burst upon the scene as well. Should be an exciting season.
