As for how "integral" of a skill it is, that is entirely dependent on the particular offensive system.  Does a back need to have reliable hands?  Of course.  Does he need to be as good of a receiver as McCaffrey?  Not as a general rule, no.

McCaffrey's skill set is unique, and transcends the typical RB mold.  That is my point.  You appear to be attempting to show that McCaffrey is just some run of the mill back.  I disagree, but to each their own.
